| To increase the versatility of our rack/backrest, our second generation version (which we are currently selling) is slightly different than the first year units. We have extended the length of the rack just enough to also accommodate the mounting of a trunk. It may not work with the backrest in place, but for those times when you need more storage capacity a trunk is the way to go. On the bottom of each rack there are 4 spot-drilled holes marking the locations for installing the SW-motech mounting kit. This versatile mount allows direct attachment of a Givi MonoKey trunk. If you plan to travel two-up with the trunk attached, there is an inexpensive kit available that moves the rack 2 - 1/4" to the rear so the trunk can also function as a passenger backrest.. |

Pirates Lair orders our custom racks from a friend of ours who manufactures and sells them from his own website. If you are looking for a sturdier rear rack than the crappy plastic rack that comes on the Kawasaki Concours 14, he has what you want and at a reasonable price. He offers his racks in a variety of finishes to match the look you are wanting. His replacement racks (which are similar to ours except NOT backrest compatible) are CNC machined of 3/8” (10 MM) 6061-T6 aluminum and is over 1/4” (6.5 MM) thick at its thinnest point. Each is powder coated a black textured finish to match the finish on the saddle bags and has a brushed aluminum finish on the raised ribs. Slots allow attachment of almost any brand top-box mounting plate. Sweet! All styles are $134.00 plus $13.00 shipping/handling ($147.00 total) within the United States. | Got some parts in Friday 5/ 11th and spent the weekend filling ALL back-orders placed before 5/13. They'll all ship Monday 14th. So as of today... we have a clean slate. | Want to save some money on a backrest? Not as anal as the rest of us poor bastards? On any given day, we may have a slightly flawed bracket on hand. Usually the flaws are tiny pits or blemishes in the metal surface. Even though these brackets (and the blemishes) are covered in a rich, black powder coat, I deem some of these "unworthy" of selling at full retail price hence the $20 discount. FYI.. my standards are very rigid. Note: The actual padded section on ALL Stealth Backrests are ALWAYS PERFECT. All flaws are on the actual bracket itself.
