Cycle Products. They have furnished an imported material
that is almost an exact match for the factory seat cover. It will look factory
on your R1150R. Note: Tan version is NOT available..
The R1150R Stealth backrest is designed primarily for the stock factory seat. Can it be used with the Comfort seat? Yes, but there are clearance issues and the height of the backrest may be too low for some. Click HERE to see the backrest being used with the Comfort seat. The primary benefit of the line of Stealth backrests is that as soon as your passenger gets off... remove the backrest and ride without looking like a sherpa with all kinds of ugly visible bracketry cluttering up your sleek, beautiful bike. |

Every R1150R Stealth Backrest® comes standard with a quick release knob for "tool-less" backrest removal as well as a standard hex screw if you choose a more permanent mounting method. To remove the backrest with the quick release knob ....just reach under and it's off in 15 seconds. With the hex screw... you'll need an Allen wrench and 3 minutes to lock it into place or to remove it. The furnished Polypropylene knob with stainless steel stud will stand up to any weather condition.. salt, UV, rain, cold, heat, etc.. and looks perfect with the bracketry and on the bike. Easy to reach... stays hidden. |

| R1150R Owners .. an Option: While I do NOT get enough requests to order another full production run (60 pieces) of these.. I still get a lot of random requests.. At least 2-3 a month and I always hate turning fellow riders down.. Especially regarding a backrest which will usually make their passengers lives a lot better and the ride more enjoyable. With that said.. last night I had an epiphany hence this note. Rather than me sit on the CNC plans for our R1150R Stealth backrest bracket and not use them, I'm gonna offer them for sale to anyone who might want to pursue producing some of these. A determined soul could probably come up with a few other R1150R owners who might split the cost of producing a handful. With that said.. I'm asking $800 for the plans which is a little less than it cost me to have our R & D people to originally draw them up. It's a proven design with at least 3000 sold while they were in production.. Plans would be complete CNC drawings and specs of our bracket on disk and and the sole owner of the purchaser. I'd be more than glad to furnish the actually backrests parts (which we do still produce) and/or advice as to what you'd need to make things happen. If interested.. email me |
