The design is impressive even by my anal standards. You can mount the unit on either the left or right hand sides (or both) giving you install flexibility. Install consists of using 2 screws and takes less than 10 minutes. Another cool feature... as the mount has two ball bearings, you can adjust both the height and angle of the platform to your demented needs.

Own a 2006-08 K1200GT? We've got you covered with the TECHMOUNT Mirror Mount. (Pic above left shows older version) It attaches via sliding into the unused mirror holes on either the left or right side of your bars. Every bit as sleek.. every bit as sexy.

Either mount fits every radar detector on the market. Honestly.. these are the sleekest mounts I've ever seen. I deem them worthy. The BMW Control Mount fits the BMW K1600GTL*, K1600GT*, K1300S*, K1200S, K1200R, K1200R Sport, R1200GS, R1200ST, F800S, and the K1300GT.. The Mirror Mount fits the 2006-08 K1200GT, as well as the 2001 and later K1200LT, R1150RT, & R1100S . It does NOT fit the K1300GT.

* K1300S / K1600 Mounting: The 3-21007 Techmount Control mount will work on the left/clutch side of the K1300S or K16s thru 2014 with no mods.. right out of the box.. a simple bolt on.. It will NOT work on the right side without drilling out the Techmount 5mm holes to 6mm and installing 6x45mm screws.. Basically.. the left side of the bike has 5mm screws.. the right side has 6mm screws and the mount is set up with 5mm screws.

* WARNING- The Techmount Control Mount will NOT fit the 2015+ model K1600s or R1200GSWs. BMW changed BOTH the switch housings on the 2015 models so our Techmount is not compatible.

2021+ Version Mounts: Here ye ..here ye.. The 2021 and later versions of these mounts come from the factory with ROUND platforms. After extensive testing, 90% of our customers prefered the round platforms so we have Techmount install the previous version rectangular platform as seen in pic above. FYI.. any Control mount you purchase from Pirates Lair will have the rectangular platform unless a round platform is requested. Your choice. So it is written.. so let it be done.

Also... The current mounts are a little different than some of the shots pictured here. They install and work the same. Some come with rubber bands that stretch over the top of radar detectors. Some do not.
