You've heard about it... you've wanted one.. and yet again..Pirates' Lair delivers with the K1200LT Performance Chip from Rhinewest Performance, Inc. With a tested horsepower improvement of 7hp at 6000 RPM and a torque improvement of 10 Ft/Lbs at 4800 RPM, the performance software improves the drivability and overall performance of the K1200LT by manipulating the core of the engine management system, the BMW motronic unit. Software & decryption board included. Just pull the factory chip and plug this kit in. No other mods necessary. RhineWest Performance offers 2 chips for your K1200LT. One for 1997-8/99 production dates and one for 8/99-2004. Note: Rhine West has also determined that there is a "gray" area where removing your tank and checking the computer box #'s might be necessary for proper Chip selection. If in doubt... call us at 828.628.7093 EST and we'll figure it out. As for the install, you will need a T30 Torx™ , tamper-proof wrench to get your motronic box apart. A standard Torx wrench will NOT work. We've seen these on Ebay and cheap. You can buy a complete Kobalt brand Torx kit at Lowes for $20. NAPA also sells them as part # 775-5938 or Sears. |

Late Model LT Compatibility: Starting with 2005 production, more or less, BMW changed their software to be very similar to what our tuned file provided on the 2004 and earlier K1200LTs so there are virtually no benefits in installing these chips on a 2005 and later LT. The K1200LT software is exhaust specific. Please state when ordering which exhaust you have on your bike.. stock, Remus, Staintune, etc.. Note: Due to obvious reasons.. Pirates Lair or Rhinewest Performance will NOT ship their software to China. So it is written.. so let it be done. |
