K1200S and K1200R. I guess the Germans didn't think we deserved one for

Are you a serious
corner carver? Do regular track days? If you answer yes to either of these
questions you probably know how much you need a slipper
clutch. Heavy
braking by downshifting, especially going into a turn, can lead to unnerving
chattering at the rear wheel as well as loss of traction. Experienced
riders overcome this problem with a gentle pull on the clutch lever, thereby
reducing the transference of this force to the rear wheel. Under normal
engine load this system works “OK”, but when over running the clutch is
able to slip. When using a slipper clutch, the rear wheel maintains optimal
contact with the road surface. Less rear tire chattering or hop and more
rubber on the pavement = Better control of the motorcycle. Better control=
Faster lap times.
While as of this writing I have not done this install, they tell me it's
quite easy. The clutch facing, the clutch cage, and the membranous spring
are used from the stock clutch system. Fits the BMW K1200S and K1200R
only!
