Welcome to Paradise Ridge Permaculture Campground. We're located on a dead end road on the side of Flat Top mountain (at around 2800ft) in Fairview, NC which is about 15 minutes east of Asheville. A small 6-acre lot completely off grid, its only inhabitants at the moment are our two horses (Navarre and Sweet Pea), some chickens, three pigs, and a family of ground hogs. Most of the property has been untouched for the past 20 years. The small area kept under hand is managed with a permaculture approach to make as little disturbance as possible and to keep it protected for the wildlife around the area. The property has been chemical free for the past 18 years under Paradise Ridge stewardship thus, it has plenty of wild edibles around for your pleasure. Mushrooms, weeds, nuts, etc for your natural experience. At Paradise Ridge Permaculture we accept tents, hammocks, and the like for anyone to enjoy this little piece of paradise on Flat Top Mountain. Depending on the time of year we have one area marked for parking for RVs and/or buses. Of course, we are motorcycle friendly. Check out what are guests are saying... Customer Reviews We are located just 6 minutes off the legendary Blue Ridge Parkway and 20 minutes from the scenic Chimney Rock / Lake Lure area. Chimney Rock State Park is a 20 mile drive on one of the curviest roads in the county. The area has so much to offer within minutes of our property; Hiking trails, horseback riding, horseback riding lessons, the Whistle Hop micro-brewery, and arguably the best motorcycle roads east of the Mississippi. You can find great food and beer and live music in either direction from Paradise Ridge or you can enjoy a simple quiet campfire while star-gazing at night. |

Your Hosts... My name is Amber and I, along with my husband Jerry (pic below) will be your hosts. We live just 5 miles away in Fairview so we should be available for any needs during your stay. We try to be on site for check-ins, but if we're not available our good friend "Woody" should be around. We look forward to meeting you. Woody, our grounds keeper (a VietNam vet), lives on-site in a small cabin and helps us with the property, animals, guests, and security. On most nights he is on-site. If anything is needed, he's your guy. He knows more about the area and living off-grid than Jeremiah Johnson. He's been with us for years. For availability or reservations at Paradise Ridge Permaculture Campground you can call and book directly with Amber at 828.707.7607 EST or you can book through Hipcamp.com or TheDyrt.com |
