The HelmetLok is a carabiner with a twist...it LOCKS. Specially designed for motorcycle applications, it secures your helmet (or other valuable gear) and gives you a little peace of mind when you're away from the bike. This is what I use with all my bikes.
Unlike a typical carabiner where the latch the opens inward and restricts the size of the opening, the HelmetLok latch opens OUTWARD. This allows it to fit around handlebars, frame tubes, or other parts of your motorcycle measuring up to 1-1/8" diameter.
The latching lever contains a programmable 3-pin combination lock which you can change anytime. To secure your helmet, slip the HelmetLok around your frame, hook your helmet d-rings or straps thru the caribiner, close the latch and spin the combo dial. Your helmet is now safe and secure from walk-by theiving bastages..
Need a little extra security and/or versatility? For a paltry $7 more we also offer offer an optional coiled steel security cable. Slide one end through your jacket sleeve, hook the loops at the end of the cable onto the HelmetLok and attach it to your bike. Alternatively, if your helmet does not have “D” rings, run the cable through your helmet’s chin piece, loop the ends through your HelmetLok and lock it to your bike. Now your Jacket AND Helmet are locked to your bike. When you’re finished, it will recoil back to its original length and will slip easily into your pocket. Will the little steel cable keep a determined thieving bastage from stealing your expensive gear? Not even close, but it will discourage the walk-by, snatch-n-grab thief.
The cable is made from 3mm thick nickel plated steel cable, is only 11cm (4.5 inches) long when coiled, stretching to 180 cm (6 ft) and has a load capacity of 100 kgs. |
