As there are no wires, the 5 minute install is about as easy as it gets. The transmitter plugs directly into the power port of your V1, Passport 8500 , 8500 X-50, or 9500ix. The H.A.R.D. receiver mounts either inside or outside your helmet with the flashing LED placed in your peripheral field of vision. Uses 2 watch type batteries. The Passport version also works with the Passport/Escort 7500, 6800 as well as the Beltronics models: RX-65, RX-55, Vector 995, and the Beltronics STi Driver detector.* It's us against them, my friends! * The HARD is compatible with the Beltronics STi Driver detector when using the non-Smartcord wire kit.  In rare cases the included power cord, direct wire SmartPlug, cause issues.  To guarantee compatibility order the standard non-Smartcord direct wire kit.
